On December 5, 2023, I testified before Congress on the crisis of hatred towards Jews, especially on college campuses. The Times of Israel published an article about the hearing.
Dr. Pamela Nadell testified at a December 2023 Congressional hearing on antisemitism, where she joined three university presidents to address the rising crisis of Jew-hatred in the United States, particularly on college campuses. Reflecting on the event, Nadell described a “sea change” in the perception and prevalence of antisemitism following the October 7 Hamas attacks in Israel, marking it as a turning point in American discourse. She emphasized the need for education on the history and manifestations of antisemitism and criticized the lack of resources to handle Title VI complaints addressing discrimination. While cautious about the future, Nadell expressed hope that antisemitism in the U.S. can be effectively countered with leadership and education.
“We’ve seen a sea change,” Nadell told The Times of Israel. “Every single conversation I’ve had since October 7 has been, ‘Did you think you’d ever be living through this in America?’”
